Celebrating Mother’s Day In Style
Every second Sunday in May, we take time to celebrate motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence they have. Whether that comes in form of a special activity, meaningful tradition or a quiet remembrance, this is truly a day to honour the wonderful women in our lives.
Did you know?
• 22 million phones will ring on Mother’s Day
• The carnation is the official flower of Mother’s Day (we say, buy the roses!)
• Mother’s Day was made official on May 9, 1914
We at at Turnabout love to celebrate! In honour of Mother’s Day this year, we asked fashion stylist, long time Turnabout customer and new mom, Jessica Clark Kinsella to share her favourite Turnabout picks, her celebratory plans, and why this day is important to her.

Her Mother’s Day Plans
My daughter has just turned one last week so this Mother’s Day I really want to celebrate a year of motherhood by keeping it simple. We are going to have an outdoor picnic and explore some nature. Good weather or not my little one loves the outdoors! Of course, we will be celebrating my mother and mother-in-law as well, sending them our love and gratitude for their guidance as I navigated my new role as a mom.
What This Day Means To Her
Mother's Day has an even deeper meaning now that I’m a mother. I went into labour on Mother’s Day last year which was very symbolic for me as I embarked on this new journey. All mother’s deserve to be celebrated. Motherhood is amazing, hard, exhilarating, fulfilling and everything in between. I think Mother’s Day is about taking a moment to celebrate your own unique journey as a mom if you are one and to appreciate and celebrate your mother’s, grandmother’s and those before you whom without, you would not be where you are today.
